Around 2010, Miyakita began exploring beyond the stage dance. Her first exhibition in 2012 was held at MEDIA SHOP in Kyoto City, a shop handling books and antiquarian books on art, architecture, design, photography, and more. Her last exhibition there was in 2015, making this her return after 11 years. The window gallery will remain viewable even after the shop closes.
New works from the series she’s been continuing since 2018 are also featured on the bookshelves. Original costumes are displayed in the fitting room.
The exhibition runs until April, so please stop by if you’re in the area.
